N1 is ISO 9001 Accredited

As discussed previously, accreditation is important in any business, but especially so when it comes to food safety and N1 go to great lengths to ensure the highest standards and the safest end-products possible. To this end, N1 is both HACCP and ISO 9001 certified, and in this blog we take a closer at ISO 9001 and why this is beneficial for all concerned.

ISO 9001 forms part of the ISO 9000 group of international standards – a quality management system that provides a company with the framework and necessary tools to ensure important standards are met and maintained on an ongoing basis. It can be used by any organisation regardless of size or industry, and there are currently over one million businesses and organisations across the world that are ISO 9001 certified. The ISO quality management system and standards are based on seven quality management principles (QMPs) and here, taken directly from the ISO Quality Management Principals document, is what each of these entail:

QMP 1 – Customer focus

‘The primary focus of quality management is to meet customer requirements and to strive to exceed customer expectations.’

QMP 2 – Leadership

‘Leaders at all levels establish unity of purpose and direction and create conditions in which people are engaged in achieving the organization’s quality objectives.’

QMP 3 – Engagement of people

‘Competent, empowered and engaged people at all levels throughout the organization are essential to enhance its capability to create and deliver value.’

QMP 4 – Process approach

‘Consistent and predictable results are achieved more effectively and efficiently when activities are understood and managed as interrelated processes that function as a coherent system.’

QMP 5 – Improvement

‘Successful organizations have an ongoing focus on improvement.’

QMP 6 – Evidence-based decision making

‘Decisions based on the analysis and evaluation of data and information are more likely to produce desired results.’

QMP 7 – Relationship management

‘For sustained success, an organization manages its relationships with interested parties, such as suppliers.’

Based on these quality management principles, it becomes clear to see why this internationally recognised quality standard is so beneficial for both business and customer: its structure and focus helps develop a professional culture and increases employee engagement, it improves efficiency and reduces waste, and it improves product quality, all of which help to meet customer requirements and increase customer satisfaction – of paramount importance to everyone at N1. It is by setting the bar this high, by being ISO 9001 and HACCP certified, that N1 show their ongoing commitment to meeting their core values of quality, service and delivery.
